1951 All-MLB Team

 By JT
Allie Reynolds
Today we post the 1951 All_Star teams of The Sporting News (TSN), The Associated Press (AP), and the All-NL and All-AL teams of the United Press (UP).

Between AP and TSN the only difference is the latter picked Allie Reynolds who was a reliever and a starter. Usually, they went with a reliever.

The UP's picks got some mention for Minnie Minoso, Dom DiMaggio, and Richie Ashburn as outfielders for the respective leagues.

Gil Hodges, Alvin Dark, Bobby Thomson, Yogi Berra, Gil McDougald, Ben Garver, and Sal Maglie got mentions as well for being their All-League Teams.

The AP also had a Second-team. Warren Spahn was the left-handed pitcher on that and Giants left fielder Monte Irvin was voted to that along with Ashburn and Minoso in the outfield.
Chico Carrasquel and  Red SchoendienstGil McDougald, and Gil Hodges were the Second-team infield and Yogi Berra backed up Campenella behind the plate.

And the usual All-Star teams—
