1970 WAR All-MLB Team and All-AL and All-NL Teams

Using Wins Above Replacement (WAR), in this base Baseball-Reference.com's version of WAR (there are others) is interesting but can yield odd results

For comparison here is how the media outlets voted—

Here are the Associated Press and NEA's All-MLB teams—

You'll see lots of differences though players like Johnny Bench, Bob Gibson, and others showed well in both. Roy White got his just due in the WAR teams but Glenn Beckert who hit .342 didn't score high in WAR. 

As we said, food for thought.
