The 1955 All-MLB Team

Al Kaline 

The United Press (UP) chose All-AL and NL squads and the Associated Press (AP) and The Sporting (TSN) picked from both leagues once again.

TSN picked Al Kaline in the outfield while the AP chose Duke Snider as the third outfielder behind Ted Williams and Willie Mays. 

The other difference is TSN picked a third pitcher—Don Newcombe.

In the voting, the AP second-team consists of 
C—Yogi Berra

1B—Gil Hodges

2B—Red Schoendienst

SS—Harvey Kuenn

3B—Ray Boone

OF—Al Kaline, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial

RHP—Don Newcombe

LHP—Billy Pierce

In the UP AL and NL teams, names like Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial emerge and others.  

The UP had plenty of honorable mentions as well—

And for the usual stuff, the opening lineups or the MLB All-Star game—
